Oman trade with Qatar amounted to OMR 571 million in 2023

Oman and Qatar recently announced an increase in trade volume of 20%, reaching OMR 571.15 million (USD 1.48 billion) in 2023 compared to OMR 475.96 million (USD 1.24 billion) in 2021.
The figures were announced at the recently celebrated Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 50th anniversary Golden Jubilee in Muscat. Dignatories praised the close relations between the Sultanate and the State of Qatar, emphasizing their advanced ties across various fields, particularly in economic and commercial areas. The jubilee also showcased the origin story of the Oman Chamber and reviewed its progress, milestones and notable achievements.
Furthermore, the ceremony also marked the launch of a new visual identity for the chamber, as well as the establishment of the Social Investment Center and the Center for Economic Studies and Research.
In further news, both the Oman and Qatar Chambers jointly hosted a panel discussion in Doha recently entitled ‘Investment between Oman and Qatar’. During the event it was revealed that the number of mutual investments by Omani companies operating in Qatar has hugely increased in the past few years and that many Omani and Qatari companies have cooperated in and established joint ventures. It was also noted that the private sector held a key role in promoting commercial cooperation between both countries and expanding partnerships across various sectors including food industries, tourism, real estate and petrochemicals.
As part of the event, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, delivered a presentation on the key investment incentives available for Qatari investors and the relevant bodies overseeing investment and commercial activities in Oman.
